The Harmony Series, Part 1: When the Days Come Together in Music

By Eugenia Damasius 6  pm on

It’s truly a special thing when people and days come together in harmony. Last Thursday, that feeling was in the air as Darron and I had the pleasure of rocking out with the wonderful residents of Grand Dominion Del Webb.

With the Rob Post Band setting the rhythm, the event was more than a musical performance. It was a celebration of community and connection. You could feel the boost of energy in the room from the moment the first note rang out. Residents were smiling, swaying, and sharing stories, and for a while, the rest of the world faded into the background.

Events like these are a powerful reminder of what truly matters. When we take the time to connect through music, we create moments that stay with us long after the echo of the last note fades away. There’s something uniquely human about gathering together around a shared experience, and music has a way of reaching people in ways words alone simply can’t.

For our team at Assisting Hands Home Care, showing up for events like this isn’t just something we enjoy. It’s part of who we are. We believe meaningful connection is at the heart of high-quality care, and afternoons like this one at Grand Dominion Del Webb remind us exactly why we do what we do.

The Harmony Series, Part 2: Root Beer Floats, Father’s Day, and the Sweet Sound of Community

Sometimes harmony isn’t found in a melody. Sometimes it’s found in a cold root beer float and good conversation.

This Father’s Day, we had the joy of celebrating with the residents and community partners at New Summit Thrive of Lake County. With the Thrive Band providing a fantastic soundtrack throughout the day, we gathered to honor the fathers and father figures in our community, and what a day it was!

There’s something deeply rewarding about stepping out of the office and into the lives of the people we serve. No presentations, no paperwork—just sweet goodies, great tunes, and even better company. Sharing simple things like diving in to sinfully sweet treats with childlike smiles can open the door to real conversations, and those conversations are where connection truly lives.

We left New Summit Thrive that afternoon with full hearts. The laughter, the stories shared over floats, the music filling the room: these are the moments that remind us why community matters. This is the harmony we strive for every day, not just in what we do but also in how we show up for the people around us. At Assisting Hands Home Care, we believe great care goes far beyond the home. It shows up at community celebrations, in shared smiles, and in the small moments that make a big difference.
